It was a nice day out, the weather has been very cooperative as of late. Only a few stray clouds were hanging in the sky, it wasn’t too hot nor was it freezing out, absolutely perfect weather. Brendan stood outside of the Lilycove Department Store, in his hand was a bag holding a special gift. He looked at his PokeNav, checking the time.
“I hope May likes the Torchic doll I got for her-“
The sun shone brightly as may walked through Lilycove towards the Department Store. She hadn’t hung out with Brendan in quite some time. She was glad she was able to spend some time with him. A slight breeze flew through, blowing May’s hair into her face. She laughed to herself as she arrived at the Lilycove Department Store. She smiled as she saw Brendan standing there waiting for her.
“Hey Brendan!” She ran up to him and hugged him.
Brendan could now see May making her way towards the Department Store. He waved his hand to greet her.
“Hey there May! I-” And that was all he could finish saying before May gave him a big hug. Brendan stood still, letting her hold him. He in return, began wrapping his arms around her, hugging her as well. After the embrace, he shuffled the shopping bag behind himself. “As I was saying, I got you a little something. Riiiiight here, tada!” He pulled out the Torchic doll from the bag and held it up, smiling, all the while blushing profusely.
May gasped as she say the Torchic doll in Brendan’s hands. She instantly felt her cheeks go red as she gently took the doll from his hands.
“It’s so cute!” She didn’t even care about her blushing. May felt so flattered that he had gotten her this. “Brendy, you didn’t have to.” She laughed as she hugged the doll to her chest. “I love it!”

//I do really want. Its my grandma… I love her. She was practically my mom.
May’s face froze as she saw the new Pokemon before her eyes. “Whoa. I’ve never seen one before.” May was just glad she was going to have someone accompany her. She’s heard that Castelia City is very confusing, so she’d probably get lost. When she saw N jump on the Pokemon’s back, May was hesitant.
“This is safe?” She looked the Pokemon up and down, studying it’s wings. “I don’t want to die today, you know?” She climbed on the Pokemon’s back behind N. “I’m trusting you, don’t kill me.” She held tightly onto N’s waist, waiting for the takeoff.
“Don’t worry— Braviary here is top notch flyer, strong enough to hold you and I and probably several others if he wanted to.” The former king gave a bird a loving pat on the top if it’s feathered head, in which the Pokémon responded with a gentle, reassuring coo. To ease the girl’s fears N thought about releasing his most prized friend, Zekrom. Zekrom— a half of a whole of black and white, ying and yang, suffering and joy— had carried him far, far away from Unova on his strong back, from his past, his his collapsed castle, from what he loved. N resented him for that, but it wasn’t his friend’s fault. It was his own. He hadn’t thrown him out of his Pokéball since that day. Something told N that he never would gain the courage to do so.
If only the girl behind him knew of the world that was crushing down upon his weary shoulders.
Removing himself from his friend’s side, N positioned himself on the bird’s back and gently rested his hands upon it’s neck. Without a second to spare, May followed suit and moved behind him, her arms wrapping tight around N’s—
He jumped, gasping for air as he lost his breath. He wasn’t used to being touched, especially by a girl. The following several seconds were spent hyperventilating; but, soon thereafter, gulping, N spoke nervously and quicker than ever, “I—I‘m so sorry about that, you see, M-May, I’m sort of a loner and lately I’ve only been used to being around Pokémon, not other people, and—”
Get it together, N.
He took several deep breaths in hopes of regaining his composure and when he felt normalized again he slowly turned around to face May, his face bright red, as he flashed the girl a nervous smile. “S—Sorry…” He sighed, “Now… how about some Castelia cones?” Facing forward once more, N gave Braviary a small pat on his neck and the bird began flapping it’s giant wings rhythmically, ready for takeoff.
May released her grip when she felt him jump. She was so scared that she had done something wrong. Maybe N is aphephobic. She looked up at him quietly, unsure of what to do. She had never met someone who was so jumpy. She was always used to being sort of a tomboy so she was perfectly touching guys if need be. But now that she thought about it, she had just met N. N probably wasn’t used to people touching him.
May sat there, waiting for him to speak. She held her breath until he did. She saw his nervous smile and put out an apologetic smile. She hadn’t meant to scare the boy. “Castelia cones sound really good right now.”

All of the sudden she felt the bird’s wings start moving. She hadn’t liked flying that much, but with such a big region you almost had to fly everywhere. This time, May put her arms around N much more lightly, not wanting to scare him again. She really wanted N to like her, she needed new friends. And she liked N, yes he was quirky, but that didn’t bother May. She found his personality to be very comforting.
